Europe
Version for Basecamp or Mapsource
This is one big download (14 Gb) of whole Europe for the PC (Mapsource/Basecamp) with an installer for Windows or as gmap version for Mac OSX (also suitable for Windows users).
For those who don't want to download one big map, the gmap version is also available in 7 smaller regions (they are stored in the subfolder, see the area map below the GPS versions).
Please note that the zip file is very big (14 Gb, 18 Gb uncompressed!) a download manager is recommended to resume broken downloads and accelerate the download speed.
Read the installation instructions below or in the readme file.
GPS version
Europe is divided in seven areas for the Garmin GPS units, see the area map below.
To install two or more areas on the GPS, rename the gmapsupp.img file (gmapsupp1.img, gmapsupp2.img or whatever.img etc). Please note that very old units can only read an image file named "gmapsupp.img".
The GPS versions do not include an installer for Basecamp. Basecamp can only read it from micro SD card, virtual drive or GPS internal memory. Use the regional gmap versions to install the maps directly on your computer.
For Android smartphones/tablets only the Oruxmaps app support this format. Other dedicated GPS devices (Mio, Teasi, Bryton, TomTom etc) or IOS devices (Iphone, Ipad) are NOT supported!
Alternative TYP files for Garmin Edge (firmware 21.16 or later)
This TYP file will fix a problem with thick lines that occurs since the firmware update v.21.16 on all Garmin Edge x40 and Edge Explore 2 devices.

Instructions for installation
PC version (Windows installer)
Unpack the zip file to a location of your choice, e.g. C:\Garmin\Maps\OFM(EU2024). If extracting doesn't work, try 7-zip.org
Existing Europe maps from previous years have different ID's so no need to remove them (but it is recommended to save disk space). It is recommended to uninstall previous versions first.
Run Install_OFM_EU2024.exe to install the mapset into the registry of Basecamp/Mapsource (this takes only a few seconds). Depending on your windows configuration, you need to right-click install file and run as Administrator.
Ignore anti-virus warnings, they are false positive. Sometimes you need to disable your anti-virus software when installing.
Read the tips & tricks section how to use the maps
You can simply move the map another location with a file manager and run install.exe again to update Basecamp/Mapsource register.
Mac OSX (gmap format):
Mac OSX: Make sure Garmin Basecamp is installed and closed; Also MapInstall and MapManager for the Mac must be installed. Unpack the zip file. Double-click on the OFM(EU2024-mm-dd).gmap folder to run Garmins Mapmanager or start Garmin Mapmanager and find the OFM(EU2024-mm-dd).gmap folder to install it
Windows users can also use this gmap version: unpack the zip file and move the OFM(EU2024-mm-dd).gmap folder to the default Garmin map folder. For easier installation Javawa GMTK is recommended.
Read the tips & tricks section how to use the maps
GPS version:
Unpack OFM(EU2024_x_GPS).zip and copy the garmin folder with gmapsupp.img on a (micro) SD-card
To put multiple areas on your gps device, rename the file gmapsupp.img (e.g. gmapsupp1.img, ofm_2024w.img) and store the files in the same garmin folder on micro SD card.
Please note that some (very old) gps units only support one mapset and it must be named gmapsupp.img.
Only Micro SD cards that are formatted in "FAT32" format are compatible with Garmin devices, exFAT formatted cards are not readible
You can view the gps mapsets on your computer with Basecamp (with a SD card reader, virtual drive or GPS connected to the pc)
