- Update Full version
- Added info to the installation menu:
An alternative way to install the map under Windows is to use the gmap (Mac) version
(OpenFietsMap (Mac).tgz). This is a new approach that Garmin uses to
install the maps. Big advantage is that the map details are not longer
kept in the windows registry, but only copied in a default Garmin map.
Disadvantage is that this doesn't work with older Mapsource versions.
Unpack
OpenFietsMap (Mac).tgz/OpenFietsMap (Mac).tar. Move the OpenFietsMap
(BNL).gmap from the OpenFietsMap (BNL).gmapi folder to the default
Garmin map folder. The location of this folder depends on your Windows
version. In Vista or W7 this is C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Maps or C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Maps or
in XP c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\garmin\maps.
Uninstall the old version first (remove the gmap) or by uninstalling it
if it is installed on the old way with the setup.exe in the windows
register (step 3).
JaVaWa GMTK
is a programm that can help you installing the map in the right
folder.JaVaWa GMTK enables you to install these maps. It will check that
no
existing map will be overwritten, and after installing new maps, JaVaWa
GMTK will perform a check for possible file errors and conflicts with
other maps.
